Hello! We’re Nick and Sarah, and we’re truly grateful that you’re taking the time to get to know us.

We understand that this is an incredibly difficult and personal decision, and we deeply admire your courage and love in choosing life for your child. We are so excited and ready to become parents. Our prayer is that God will give you the grace to discern the right plan for you and your child.

Relationship/Journey

We met in a typical millennial fashion— through a dating app! We began dating in 2018 and never looked back. Our early dates were spent watching football games, taking walks in the park, and even going to an Ed Sheeran concert. We have been married for 5 years now and are ready for our next adventure!

Why Adoption?

We have always known we wanted to have children, but we’ve faced fertility issues for years. Nick grew up with a younger sister, and Sarah is the youngest of four, so siblings and family have always been at the center of our lives. Sarah has always been strongly pro life, and Nick’s best friend was adopted through St. Elizabeth’s Foundation, which gave him an appreciation for adoption from an early age. We have both worked with children facing difficult home situations and have seen how this can negatively impact them. We would love to offer a nurturing home that would allow a child to feel secure, grow, and succeed.

Home

We think it’s pretty nice! We live in a quiet neighborhood in New Orleans close to the lake. There are a lot of families with young children around, and there are parks nearby as well. Sarah is a plant mom and enjoys honing her gardening skills. Sarah also enjoys when Nick barbecues outside and cuts the grass.

Travel

We LOVE to travel and check out new places! We’ve been to Europe, Asia, Central America and around the US together and are always looking for our next adventure. We would love to instill our sense of wonder and adventure in a child one day.

Hobbies

We love going to concerts, watching the Pelicans and Saints games, and trying out new restaurants, which makes New Orleans the perfect place for us to call home. Nick has gotten into making cocktails with friends and even joined a tiki group. Sarah enjoys taking exercise classes and being outdoors.

School & Work

Nick went to Tulane University where he majored in Biomedical Engineering and then received his medical degree from LSU New Orleans. Nick now works as a pediatrician in New Orleans. He loves it because he gets paid to take care of sick kids and goof around. He even occasionally makes a tv appearance to talk about medical concerns for kids. He prides himself on not taking things too seriously. Sarah earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from LSU and her master’s degree in Counseling from Loyola University New Orleans. She now works as a school counselor at her high school alma mater, where she helps teenage girls navigate their high school years.

Nick's Extended Family

Nick’s parents are from Guyana in South America but have now lived in Louisiana for decades. They and his sister live an hour away but come into New Orleans weekly. They love spending time together and going on family trips.

Sarah's Extended Family

Most of Sarah’s family live in New Orleans, and they get together regularly for family events. Sarah’s sister lives in Atlanta, but they talk on the phone often. Sarah loves spending time with her nieces and nephews and considers them a big part of her life.

Family Traditions & Holidays

We spend time with both families during the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons. Our favorite holiday though is probably Mardi Gras because we get to see all of our family and friends who come into town, and we get to partake in one of New Orleans’s richest cultural traditions.
