It is our promise to love and cherish your child each day of his or her life.

Hello! We are excited to learn about your hopes and dreams for your child and are grateful for you taking the time to get to know us. We have been married for over 10 years and have been blessed with five beautiful children, four by adoption. Emily is a stay-at-home mom and Ryan works as an Information Technology Manager for a Fortune 500 company. We have always wanted a large family! We have experience with both open and closed adoption, and look forward to welcoming a boy or girl of any ethnicity into our family. It is our promise to love and cherish your child each day of his or her life. We thank you for allowing us to give you a brief glimpse into our life. It is our prayer that you will have much peace in this process, the outcome, and through all of the days to come.

Relationship/Journey

We are Bible study sweethearts who first connected while serving together at church and since then, enjoy doing everything together. Some of our favorite things are traveling, seasonal activities, and planning family events. From the start of our marriage we have always wanted to grow our family by the blessing of adoption. We love being parents and are very family focused, including our children in our hobbies, and ourselves in their interests. We look forward to sharing our love for celebrating birthdays and holidays with another child, as well as the fun of enjoying each of the four seasons in Ohio!

Home

We have over 3,500 square feet waiting for the pitter patter of more little feet to echo off of the walls. Located in Ohio, our house is in a planned community with easy access to shopping, doctors, and entertainment, including the private swim club around the corner. We have a beautiful backyard with a covered (and gated) patio, and our property backs up to a pond, where the boys spend many evenings fishing.

Travel

We love to travel and attempt to take a couple of trips each year. Most recently, we took a trip to Boston and also spent a week in Virginia Beach with all of Ryan’s extended family. Our kids love going to the beach, but are looking forward to our next family vacation in the mountains.

Hobbies

There are a lot of different hobbies between us! Emily enjoys being creative through scrapbooking, sewing, and making cards. She also likes to bake and garden—many times with helpers. Our “littles” also enjoy the craft projects that she details to their abilities. Ryan is very active, playing baseball and golf. He currently enjoys playing the guitar, especially while one of our children plays the piano. Emily can usually rope him into a house project or two, and he gets bonus points for being tech savvy as well! Both of us are avid readers and love sharing the gift of books with our children. We have many picture books, some of our favorites being: Winnie the Pooh, Little Blue Truck, The Velveteen Rabbit, and classics from Beatrix Potter.

School & Work

Ryan works as an Information Technology manager for a Fortune 500 company and has spent his career there since graduating college. He has both a Bachelors Degree and an MBA. His office is close to home, which makes us all very happy! Emily is a stay-at-home mom with a degree in education. It is planned that she will always remain at home. Before we started our own family, she nannied for several families at church and taught Sunday School.

Our Family

We are presently a family of seven, with four boys and one princess—they can’t wait for another sibling and even tried to put one on the grocery list! Their names are Gabriel, William, Samuel, Felicity, and Benjamin. With Ryan being one of seven and Emily one of four, our extended family is large! They love and enjoy each of our children, cheering them on at sporting events and celebrating their milestones with us. We enjoy taking vacations together and having play dates with friends. In the evenings, we like to walk through our friendly neighborhood or ride bikes to the nearby pool or park. Many of our friends are from church, work with Ryan, and/or are stay-at-home mothers, like Emily.

Family Traditions & Holidays

We have many traditions in our family, but one of our favorites stems from Ryan’s father, who creates a special photo book for each new baby in the family. The holidays also bring a lot of traditions, when we attend the zoo lights, decorate gingerbread houses, and bake family cookie recipes. With Felicity being the only little lady in the house, we try to establish fun traditions for her as well. One of those is Emily taking her to proper tea at our local tea house. Another favorite tradition is taking family photos every fall—sometimes the best ones are candid!
