Our hearts are full of love and ready to shower a child with that love.
Hi, we are Mary and Peter and we are so thankful you are taking the time to get to know us. We know this is a difficult decision and we are praying with you and for you during this journey. Our hearts are full of love and ready to shower a child with that love. We would be honored to be considered as adoptive parents and we commit to providing a loving, safe, stable, faith-filled and fun home for your child.
Relationship/Journey
Peter met Mary through Mary's brother-in-law, who also happened to be Peter's former roommate in college. In December, 2014, Peter asked Mary on a date and took her dancing. They have been dancing through life together ever since. Their courtship was quick and they were married a year and a half later. The desire to be parents has been on Mary and Peter's hearts since they were married. Unfortunately, due to medical issues, they have not been able to conceive any children of their own, but trust that God will bless them with a child through adoption.
Home
We live in a split level, 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment with our own private backyard. Our Neighborhood is a beautiful, diverse neighborhood with many restaurants, coffee shops, and playgrounds within walking distance.
Travel
We have traveled to and lived in several other countries including Greece, Israel, Italy, Belize, and Austria. We also love taking family vacations with our extended family to the beach or the mountains.
Hobbies
We are often described as the life of the party. We love dancing, going to local music festivals, hosting parties, game nights, and experiencing other cultures. Peter is very athletic and loves bike-riding, hiking, and participating in and watching sports. He used to coach football and track. Mary was a professional dancer and still loves taking dance lessons for fun. She also likes to sew, embroider, and garden. Mary and Peter also love reading and are very musical. Peter plays the guitar and sings and Mary also sings and plays the drums.
School & Work
Mary attended college in Pennsylvania and was a professional dancer, teacher and choreographer for many years. Now she works in development for a non-profit organization. Peter loves the Bible and has 2 master’s degrees and is currently pursuing his PHD in the Bible. Right now he teaches theology at a local high school, but his goal is to become a university professor.
Peter's Extended Family
We both come from big families (Peter has 4 siblings and Mary has 8). Peter's family lives all over the country, and although they don't get to see each other in person very often, they call each other frequently and are still very close.
Mary's Extended Family
Mary's family is from Louisiana and many of her siblings still live locally, giving us the perfect opportunity to spend lots of time with our nieces and nephews. Any of our future children will have many cousins to play with and many loving aunts and uncles to dote on them. We also try to take one big family vacation each year.
Family Traditions & Holidays
We spend almost every holiday with Mary’s extended family. We have a big BBQ for the 4th of July at our family’s property by a river, and we have Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter dinners together where we play lots of family card games and board games. Peter and I often take charge of bringing the fun to family gatherings and will surprise everyone with funny holiday themed games. Mary and Peter also love Mardi Gras and go to as many parades as possible.
