Relationship/Journey
We met during college while working together in the same office. I (Chandler) knew very early after meeting Carew and seeing how much he loved God and how funny he was, that he was exactly the kind of man God wanted for me. We began dating that April. We got engaged seven months later and were married on June 10, 2017 surrounded by friends and family and so much love. Our journey has been filled with so much growth, learning, and even more love over the past several years. We are committed to each other and our family through thick and thin.
Home
Our home is a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom single-story house that we love. Our neighborhood connects to one of the oldest, if not the oldest, neighborhoods in our town. The combined neighborhoods sit right on a lake and have some of the oldest, most beautiful live oak trees around. The area is filled with other young families, lush greenery, and neighbors out and about walking and biking. We can’t wait to share our little slice of paradise with little feet running all over inside and outside our home.
Travel
As a family, we love to travel and experience new places together. Chandler has been to Europe twice, visited over 10 countries and 14 different European cities. The second trip Carew got to go on and we had so much fun exploring and taking in the beautiful sites. We don’t have to go overseas to feel fulfilled though. Some of our favorite trips are 3-day weekends to go camping or experience a new state or city nearby.
Hobbies
As a family we enjoy spending time with our community of friends, being goofy with each other, cooking, reading, going for drives, traveling, and simply walking around our neighborhood together. Carew really enjoys golf and keeping up with sports. Chandler loves gardening, building things, and spending time on or near water (lakes, beaches, rivers, doesn’t matter).
School & Work
We met at Mississippi State University and both graduated from there. Carew works in the banking and finance industry. Chandler got her accounting degree with a minor in Spanish. Right around the same time that Carew switched to banking, Chandler made the transition to working at a nonprofit centered around promoting the importance of childhood reading through sports. It’s a really cool job that she loves. However, she recently transitioned to part-time so that she can be at home with our future child which she is even more excited about.
Our Extended Family
We are both blessed with wonderful families who will be tremendous grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Carew’s parents are even moving back to our town so that they can be close by. Unfortunately, Chandler’s family lives in different states, but they make it a point to visit often and FaceTime all the time. Both sets of grandparents will love our future child endlessly and will be active in their grandchild’s life. The same goes for Chandler and Carew’s brother and sisters. Our community of friends around us is also very important. We cannot wait to introduce our child to them. We know they will shower our child with love every week!
