We’ve been together since high school and married for nine adventure-filled years. As best friends, we love the outdoors, the arts, and sharing life with our sweet dog, Nola. We are excited to grow our family through adoption and share our hearts and home with a child. Barbara is a nurse, and Darrell works for a medical supply company. Caring for others is at the heart of who we are. We’re grateful for our large circle of family and friends and look forward to creating lasting memories together.
Relationship/Journey
Our story began when we met as teenagers at a high school dance, where we quickly became best friends. That friendship grew into a love that has now become a wonderful marriage. We still laugh together every day, dance to our favorite music, and enjoy experiencing life side by side. Throughout the years, we've supported each other's dreams, celebrated life's milestones, and grown stronger as a team. We love exploring Louisiana and traveling together, but some of our favorite moments are the simple ones—reading, painting, and cooking at home. Above all, we've built a home filled with love, laughter, and encouragement, and we are excited to share that love with a child. We look forward to providing a safe, nurturing, and joyful family where a child will always know they are deeply loved and cherished.

Becoming parents has always been one of our greatest dreams, and adoption has always been a meaningful part of how we envisioned growing our family. We feel truly honored to have the opportunity to welcome a baby into our lives and provide a home filled with unconditional love, security, laughter, and support. Home
We are fortunate to live in a welcoming, family-oriented community in South Louisiana, where neighbors look out for one another and children can enjoy growing up in a safe and caring environment. Our comfortable three-bedroom, two-bath home is filled with love, laughter, and plenty of room to grow. We are excited to transform one of the bedrooms into a warm, cozy nursery where countless bedtime stories, snuggles, and special moments will be shared. One of our favorite features of our home is the spacious backyard, where we look forward to playing, exploring, and making memories together. A nearby park offers even more opportunities for family walks, playground adventures, and enjoying the outdoors. Our home is also especially meaningful because Barbara grew up here. It has been the setting for years of cherished family memories, and it means so much to us to continue that tradition by filling it with new laughter, milestones, and the love of a growing family. We can't wait to create a home where a little one always feels safe, loved, and surrounded by happiness.
Travel
Traveling is one of our favorite ways to make memories and experience new cultures together. Whether we're exploring the beauty of the mountains, relaxing on Florida's beaches, strolling through the historic streets of New Orleans, or visiting favorite destinations like Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando, we love every adventure. We've also enjoyed Caribbean cruises and discovering the history of the Mayan pyramids. We look forward to sharing these experiences with a child, encouraging curiosity, creating lasting family traditions, and always returning home with wonderful memories to share with the people we love.
Hobbies
Our favorite moments are the ones spent together with family and friends. We enjoy making the most of every season—summer trips to the beach and movies, fall festivals and pumpkin patches, and cheering on the Saints during football season. Darrell enjoys golfing, reading, and video games, while Barbara loves painting, decorating, and getting lost in a good book. Together, we love cooking, trying new restaurants, traveling, and exploring new places. Nola, our playful Maltipoo, is happiest on walks, napping, and spending time with the people she loves. We look forward to sharing these traditions and discovering new hobbies and adventures together as a family.
Pets
Nola is our sweet, playful Maltipoo and a much-loved member of our family. She has a gentle, affectionate personality, loves children, and is always happiest when she's spending time with the people she loves. Her favorite activities include long walks, playing fetch with her favorite smiley ball, and tug-of-war with her beloved teddy bear. Nola also enjoys joining in on family celebrations and never misses a chance to dress up for the occasion. She brings so much laughter and love to our home, and we know she'll be a loyal and loving companion to a little one.
School & Work
Learning has always been an important part of our lives. We both earned bachelor's degrees and built careers centered on helping others—Barbara as a nurse and Darrell by providing medical equipment that helps people safely return home to their families. We believe education opens doors, whether through college, trade school, or another path that matches a child's unique talents and dreams. Above all, we hope to encourage curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.
Darrell's Extended Family
Darrell comes from a close-knit, loving family that is excited to welcome a new addition. His parents, Darrell Sr. and Margaret, have instilled in him the values of faith, kindness, and putting family first, serving as wonderful role models throughout his life. His sister Jennifer, her husband Stephen, and their daughter Maggie live nearby, allowing the family to spend lots of quality time together. Whether they're traveling, cooking family meals, celebrating Louisiana festivals, or simply gathering around the table, their time is filled with laughter, love, and meaningful moments. A child will be surrounded by a large, supportive family who is ready to offer endless love, encouragement, and cherished memories.
Barbara's Extended Family
Barbara comes from a close, loving family where time together is treasured. As the youngest of three, she grew up surrounded by the love and support of her mother, two older brothers, their wives, and four nieces who all live nearby. Family gatherings are filled with laughter, home-cooked meals, holidays, and celebrations that bring everyone together. Her family is overjoyed at the thought of welcoming a new little one and looks forward to sharing their traditions, creating special memories, and surrounding a child with unconditional love, encouragement, and a strong sense of belonging.
Family Traditions & Holidays
Holidays are some of our favorite times of the year because they bring our family together to celebrate, laugh, and create lasting memories. At Christmas, our home is filled with festive red, green, and gold decorations, a beautifully decorated tree, church services, favorite family recipes, and cozy evenings watching A Christmas Story. Easter is celebrated with a lively family crawfish boil on Good Friday, followed by Easter egg hunts enjoyed by children and adults alike. Birthdays are always special, with a favorite meal, a big cake, thoughtful gifts, and plenty of time spent celebrating the person we love. We look forward to sharing these traditions with a child, creating new memories together, and filling every holiday with love, joy, and a strong sense of family.
