Although our arms have been empty, our hands have come together to pray, and they endlessly pray for your strength and courage too. We want you to know that we plan to raise them to know your courage, strength, and love. There are not enough words to describe how much we desire to be loving parents. We do want you to know that they will be loved unconditionally by us, our family, and our friends. We hope that you find us to be everything you’d hoped for in parents. Relationship/Journey
Back in 2008, college classes and our same interests brought us together. We clicked over our funny sense of humor and shared our love of animals, Louisiana culture, family, and our beliefs. Post-graduation, we couldn’t wait to tie the knot and dreamed of a big family. We enjoy a lot of fun hobbies, outdoor activities, sports, hitting the camping trails, and discovering new places. Our love of being adventurous together has kept us bonded. Yet, it is the simple joys of life like lounging on the back porch, whipping up tasty dishes, walking our dogs, spending time with our family, bike riding, game nights, and cherishing our moments together that truly matter to us. For 16 years, our love has only grown. Through our never-ending desire to have a family, we are excited to love and grow our family through the incredible journey of adoption.
Why Adoption?
The journey to parenthood has not been easy for us, but it has been one of unwavering determination, faith, and love. Since 2017, my husband and I have dreamed of starting our family, and despite our best efforts, we have faced many challenges along the way. Our attempts have been met with difficulty and disappointment. However, our desire to have children has never wavered. Children have always held a special place in our hearts, and we both adore them deeply. From the beginning of our relationship, we talked about our dreams of one day having a big family, filled with laughter, love, and adventure. We have had the privilege of watching friends go through the adoption process, and we have been inspired by their journeys. For us, the experience of adoption has been nothing but positive. We are inspired by the children in our lives, and we are more determined than ever to provide a loving, supportive home to any child who becomes part of our family. Our ultimate goal is to create a home filled with the laughter and love of children, where every child can thrive and reach their full potential. We have an unwavering commitment to supporting every child in our care, providing them with the resources, love, and encouragement they need to pursue their dreams and lead fulfilling lives.
Home
We live in a family-oriented neighborhood close to all of our family members, schools, parks and grocery stores. Our home is just 3 houses away from some of our close family members. Our home is a one-story house and has 3 big bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Our favorite part about our cozy home is our big backyard full of fruit trees, a rose garden, berry patches, and a vegetable garden. There is so much room to run around in the fenced backyard. There is a ton of space for fun activities and our neighbors are all amazing people.
Travel
We LOVE the outdoors and love to go camping and see new places with new experiences. We have dreamed of sharing new experiences with our children. We love trying new foods and exploring areas by bike riding, kayaking, and hiking! We enjoy life and the beautiful nature that surrounds us. Recently, we had the opportunity to see Hot Springs, Arkansas and the gardens and trails it had to offer. Another thing we enjoy doing together is going to sports games and going to concerts.
Hobbies
Drew’s favorite hobbies include hiking, football watching, grilling, camping, golfing, spending time with family and dogs, and camping. Alex’s favorite hobbies include crafting, spending time with family/friends/dogs, gardening, camping, cooking/baking, and bike riding. We both find every opportunity to interact with each other’s hobbies. We both enjoy learning new hobbies as well. Visiting our loved ones is a big part of our life.
Pets
We certainly cherish the time we get to spend with our boys Charlie Brown and Frankie Jay. They are more than just pets to us. They are our babies. We love taking our little dudes on walks and they are the best buds. Charlie Brown loves his baby brother so much, it is so cute. They are cuddly, sweet, gentle spirits, and they ADORE kids. We love our little fur babies so much!
School & Work
Our jobs are both flexible and stable for a family. Drew works in the industrial field and Alex works in the education field and both of them have obtained bachelor’s degrees. We are both fortunate to have been provided with careers that are perfect for raising a family. We are both passionate about our careers because they are positions we strived to have and worked hard towards our goals.
Andrew's Extended Family
Drew’s extended family lives three houses around the corner and is very supportive. Drew’s mother is an educator, and Drew’s dad is an agricultural employee and loves to share vegetables from their big garden. He has one sister who is five years younger than he is, and they are close. Drew grew up participating in sports and attending sports events with his family and was raised with wonderful family values. He has a large Cajun family with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Every gathering we have together is special and can be visited with just a short walk away.
Alexandra's Extended Family
Alex’s extended family lives close by and are very supportive. Alex’s mother is a retired nurse and Alex’s dad is a retired industrial worker. She has one brother who is only two years older than her and they are close. Alex grew up camping with her family and was raised with wonderful family values. She has a large family with a lot of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Family gatherings happen more than just on holidays. They make every gathering a celebration.
Family Traditions & Holidays
We love the holidays! The holidays are a chance for us to get together with many of our family members, cook, and spend time laughing and making memories together. Every year we go to take pictures at pumpkin patches, decorate for Halloween, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, etc. We gather with both sides of our families with a lot of delicious Cajun family recipes. We go camping for Thanksgiving week with our family and spend time cooking outside. Birthdays, anniversaries, and milestones are also celebrated together. Our time spent is always filled with love, laughter and support.
