We are Justin, Janet, Ryder & Malik. Thank you for taking the time to get to know us! While we don’t currently know you, we know it takes a tremendous amount of courage to choose life & to choose a future for your child and we admire you so much for making this choice! We would be so honored to come alongside you and support you throughout the years to come.
Justin & Janet met in 2005. It wasn’t love at first sight like most fairy tales portray, but we developed a great friendship and over time, we knew we were meant for each other. Justin finally proposed in October 2008 (even though I almost ruined the surprise! 😊) and we were married in May 2009. We had a very large wedding, 7 bridesmaids/groomsmen on each side and 300+ guests. It was a wonderful time!
We have 2 boys and we know they will be the best big brothers! We always knew that adoption would be a part of our journey, we just didn’t know when. In early 2021, God was guiding us to move forward with the process so that’s exactly what we did. We are so thrilled and thankful for what’s to come!
We have a 3 bedroom, 2 ½ bath house in a suburban area about 15 minutes outside of a larger city. There’s a fenced in backyard which is so nice for the dog and for when the kids go outside and play. Our neighborhood is diverse and has a good mixture of older couples, retirees & young families.
We enjoy traveling and exploring new places. Some of our favorite and most frequently visited places are Florida (anywhere with a beach!) & Northern Michigan. We also live 2 hours or less to many great cities. We enjoy taking the children to explore and see new places and they love it!
We enjoy our family time so much! We like to get outside as often as we can, going on walks around the neighborhood or hiking at our local State Park. Justin enjoys all sports, but primarily basketball and baseball and Janet likes to find new DIY projects around the house and bring those to life!
We have one dog, Sergio, that we’ve had for 11 years. We call him our Grandpa dog, because he enjoys his chill time. He’s been a great family dog.
School & Work
Janet has Business Administration & Accounting degrees, as well as her Cosmetology license and currently works as a Sr Analyst for a Utility company. Justin is a Mortgage Closer and he has a Culinary Arts degree, which has come in very handy! He’s so talented and is the primary cook in our house. He now uses his culinary skills for our family, and he continues to teach Janet and the kids how to cook. The boys love cooking with their Daddy, and it also helps them to broaden their range of food that they will try and ultimately, enjoy.
Our Extended Family
We both come from large families. Janet is one of 5 and Justin is one of 9! One of our sisters-in-law is adopted and we’ve had great conversations with her regarding her story. Everyone on both sides is thrilled for the newest addition! I can promise that the baby will be incredibly loved by so many people.
