We are so grateful that you are taking the time to consider us and to look at our profile!
Thank you for considering us! We are Corey and Vanessa, and we are so grateful that you are taking the time to consider us and to look at our profile! We recognize the courage required for you to consider adoption as an option. You are brave and strong! We hope that these small glances into our life will help you see the love, care, and time we are ready to put into our future child’s life. Thank you for your consideration, and we wish you nothing but the best of luck on this journey!
Relationship/Journey
Our journey together began the summer after high school graduation when we first started dating, and by Christmas Eve of that year, we officially became a couple. From the very start, we knew we shared the same values—family, love, and the desire to build a home filled with warmth, laughter, and lasting memories. We got married 7 years later in 2015 after we both finished college and were starting our careers. The following year we bought our first house, which we still live in and love, and the year after that we started trying to build our family.
Why Adoption?
After years of unexplained infertility and no success after multiple rounds of IUI and IVF, we realized that the path to growing our family was through adoption—a decision we wholeheartedly embrace. We are committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and supportive home where a child will always feel loved, encouraged to explore their passions, and given the chance to thrive. Family means everything to us, and we can’t wait to share our love, traditions, and adventures with a child.
Home
We live in a midcentury modern style home with three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and a large backyard. Our house is in a quiet neighborhood with lots of young families and kids. Our home is more than just a place to live-it’s where we bring together our family and friends for holidays, birthdays, celebrations, and dinners. We cherish every holiday and love making them special! From decorating the Christmas tree to baking cookies, to hosting Thanksgiving dinner and Easter lunch, and gathering for all of the birthdays in between, we make an effort to fill our house with joy and traditions. Our backyard is one of our favorite places to spend time, grill, and boil crawfish. For Easter and Thanksgiving, we set up tents and games like cornhole, musical chairs, ring toss, and more! More than anything, our home is a place where a child will always feel safe, supported, and loved. We can’t wait to fill our home with even more love, laughter, and new traditions as we grow our family through adoption. We hope these glimpses into our home help you see just how excited we are to welcome a little one into our lives.
Travel
Traveling is our favorite thing to do together! We have traditional trips that we do every year, like going to Disneyworld, and going to the beach with Corey’s family. We also try to go to a new place every year, and like to see different things: mountains, city skyscrapers, and different beaches. So far, we have been to over 18 states and 6 countries. We want to show our future child the world and teach them to appreciate diversity.
Hobbies
Traveling is our main hobby, but we also love game nights, concerts, plays, festivals, and hiking. Corey is a musician; and plays drums for the New Orleans Saints drumline. Vanessa loves to shop and cook. Fun fact: Vanessa collects cookbooks and Corey collects coffee mugs. We also are Saints season ticket holders and go to every single home game.
Pets
We have the best two dogs in the world-Dixie and Cosmo!!! They are our world, and we love spoiling them with love and affection! They each have their own distinct personality but are both very loving and family-oriented dogs. Our entire family loves them and has a connection with them. Fun Fact: when we host birthday parties, Dixie likes to sit next to the birthday person and participate in the singing.
School & Work
We both grew up in New Orleans, LA and graduated from The University of New Orleans. Vanessa’s undergraduate field of study was Business Administration. She currently is a manager in a local university’s medical school. Corey majored in Accounting as an undergraduate, and then went on to complete a Master of Business Administration degree from The University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Corey is a private IT consultant for various hospitals around the country and also owns a travel agency.
Vanessa's Extended Family
My family is everything to me. I was raised by a single mom who was an incredible mother and role model. She taught me the values of love, resilience, hard work, and kindness. As an only child, we had a very special bond. It was us against the world! Now as an adult, my mom is one of my best friends. She recently moved down the street from me, and we’ve enjoyed having her so close to our home. I also have two older cousins, who are 5 and 12 years older than me, that felt more like sisters growing up. From sleepovers to spontaneous trips to Biloxi and Blue Bayou, we have shared countless adventures and fun memories. They now have children (and step children) of their own that we absolutely adore! Any child who joins our family will be surrounded by love, laughter, and amazing older cousins who will be wonderful role models.
Corey's Extended Family
I was raised by my grandmother, who played a huge role in shaping my life today. She worked hard to make sure we had what we needed in life. My mom has always been a part of my life as well. I have a younger sister and a nephew, Cooper, who live in Mobile, AL. Despite the distance, we make it a priority to see each other often-whether it’s celebrating holidays together or cheering Cooper on at his baseball games. On my dad’s side, I am very close to my cousins who are also around our age and now have young children of their own. We look forward to our annual family beach trip! We have added Disney trips to the rotation too! Party of 16 checking in! One of my uncle and aunts live down the road, and we frequently get together for dinner, take trips to the beach, or meet up at events around the city. They have two daughters who are 10 and 14 years younger than us. One is currently in medical school and the other is majoring in pre-med. Both will be amazing role models for any child who joins our family. With such a big, loving, and connected family, I know that any child who joins our home will always be surrounded by love, support, and plenty of family to welcome them with open arms.
Family Traditions & Holidays
Every year, we love to bring Vanessa’s cousins’ kids to our house for a weekend to do fun Christmas activities like go to Celebration in the Oaks, bake cookies, and watch Christmas movies. We also get together with Corey’s cousins for “Cousin Cookie Night” and bake cookies for their family’s Christmas Eve party. This is our favorite time of year, and we love spending time with them! It’s been so rewarding to watch them grow, learn how to roll out the dough and decorate the cookies. It’s so easy now! We just sit back and let them run the show...with Vanessa in the background running oven interference!
